Skateboarding is difficult. Very. Freakin’. Difficult. You are on your own when it comes to practicing. You are on your own if you want to land a trick. You are on your own when you fall. But genuine effort pays off, as the feeling of landing your first kickflip stays with you forever.
Falling, and getting up again. We know that feeling all too well. It is what connects us to skateboarders. We want to protect and preserve that identity, especially now that the underground lifestyle has grown into an Olympic sport.
We started our partnership with SFN (Skateboard Federation Netherlands) back in 2018. And through them, we sponsor the annual Dutch National Skateboarding Championships. We also developed the SFN Skate App. Filled it with skate spots and tutorial videos, too. We both contribute to the skateboard community as well as a healthy society in this way. Matching goals? Check. And last but not least: the SFN is an official NOC * NSF partner, with olympic training facilities and all. So gold medals, here we come.
It is probably clear by now. We love skateboarding. So, we love skateboarders. Just by being themselves, they carry out some of our core beliefs: ambition, specialism and happiness. Candy Jacobs, Rob Maatman, Roos Zwetsloot and Douwe Macare are prime examples of this, as they skate at the absolute top of their class. In fact, they are training for Tokyo. Sadly, the national selection is not funded by the SFN. Which is why we joined their sponsorship programs directly.
