Ruud van Bragt (1977) is part of the first wave of Dutch skateboarders. A professional photographer at day and a soul skater at night. This old timer still rocks his Vans and does his flips. He might not ollie high stairs anymore, but as long as he can skate curbs, nobody is going to tell him to stop anytime soon.
“Been There, Done That” follows veteran skateboarder Ruud's soul search in California. The 41 year old retraces the roots of skateboarding, and learns that age is no boundary when it comes to having fun.
Join the trip to Los Angeles, the city that lives and breathes skateboarding. Visit some of the oldest skateboarding hotspots like Venice Beach, the cradle of modern skateparks. Watch as Elliot Sloan fearlessly jumps the mega ramp he built in his backyard, and listen in on the discussion on whether skating is a sport or a lifestyle.
“Been There, Done That” ultimately is a coming of age tale of two old friends, defying the status quo. Because you are never too old to learn what you love doing most, even if it is skating curbs all day.
